First Family Inspires Relationship Skills Courses

PAIRS, one of the nation's oldest and leading relationship skills training organizations, is offering a series of free webinars to the public, "First Family Essentials," to deliver skills training to couples inspired by the example of Barack and Michelle Obama.

Weston, FL (PRWEB) October 29, 2009 -- PAIRS Foundation, one of the nation's oldest and leading relationship skills training organizations, is offering a series of free webinars to the public, First Family Essentials to deliver skills training to couples inspired by the example of Barack and Michelle Obama.

"Barack and Michelle Obama's marriage is inspiring generations of youngsters and adults to learn skills for successful relationships," said Seth Eisenberg, President and CEO of the non-profit PAIRS Foundation, located in Weston, Florida. "Our classes have helped tens of thousands move forward to create and sustain their own 'First Families," he added.

Lauren and Michael DelGandio are one couple who enrolled in a PAIRS class at their local YMCA three years ago to strengthen their own marriage. Married for 17 years and the parents of three children, Mr. DelGandio said, "We want our children to grow up knowing anything is possible, including that either of our sons or daughter could one day be president. A great relationship is the foundation of almost every success."

"Keeping a marriage together for 7 years, 17 or 50 takes both attitude and skills," Mrs. DelGandio said. "Marriage education deepened our ability to confide, understand ourselves, demonstrate empathy, and negotiate differences."

Over the past two years, Lauren and Michael DelGandio have gone on to mentor and deliver marriage education classes to hundreds of South Florida couples and singles as part of a national research project grant-funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families.

Next week, together with other PAIRS marriage educators, they'll begin teaching "First Family Essentials" through free, one-hour webinars sponsored by the PAIRS Foundation.

"In one hour, participants will have a new understanding of the logic of love and emotions, how their style of communication impacts their relationship, and learn a specific skill for building smart marriages and happy families," Eisenberg said.

"Whether it's a new relationship, first marriage or second, everyone deserves to have the skills to create a relationship that can make everything possible," Mrs. DelGandio said. "That's what research and experience shows PAIRS delivers - knowledge and practical skills to have the foundation to make dreams come true."

PAIRS Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization established in 1983 to develop, refine and deliver educational programs that enhance interpersonal relationships, conduct research and train course leaders.
