Orlando Airport Marriott Helps "Clean the World"

The Hotel is Participating in the Clean the World Campaign in order to Make the World a Healthier Place to Live

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) October 30, 2009 -- The Orlando Airport Marriott is pleased to announce its participation in the Clean the World Program. The purpose of the program is to cut down on illnesses and diseases around the world by helping people fight off germs and bacteria. Participants in the program donate soap to nations around the world, which is used to help fight against the spread of deadly diseases.

Due to a lack of soap, many children end up with diarrheal disease and acute respiratory illness. Both illnesses can be fatal, and are becoming increasingly common in impoverished nations. They are also both avoidable when the proper hygiene is in place.

The program, along with the help of companies like the Orlando Airport Marriott, is giving people access to the hygiene materials they need so they can protect themselves from these deadly illnesses. The soap will protect the citizens from germs, which means the spread of illnesses will lessen.

As a participant in the Clean the World Program, the hotel near Orlando Airport donates gently used soap from its hotel rooms. The soap is prepared in a highly sanitary way and repackaged for distribution to places in the world that needs it; after the soap is prepared, it is taken to places such as Haiti, where disease is rampant. The places that receive the soap do not have the resources available to provide residents with proper hygiene materials, but now the Clean the World Program and the Orlando Airport Marriott are helping these nations fight back.

Before the program was introduced, a great deal of soap was wasted at hotels. People would use some of the soap given to them and then leave the rest to be thrown away by hotel staff. By enlisting the help of hotels such as the Orlando Airport Marriott, the Clean the World Program has cut down on the waste as well as disease.

The program has been promising thus far, as residents of nations around the world have welcomed the donations with open arms. In many nations, the idea of soap is a luxury, but with the Clean the World Program, that luxury is becoming much more common. As it becomes more common, the spread of diseases will slow down considerably. When that happens, it is believed the nations will become healthier and stronger. By giving nations the chance to have something most people take for granted, Clean the World and the Orlando Airport hotel have managed to give the nations hope for a brighter and cleaner future.
