The salary figures for the 2008 study come from participants in the timeshare/vacation ownership/fractional/hospitality industry that originated from the 16,000 contacts maintained by Executive Quest through its newsletter subscriptions.
Dr. Trowbridge wishes to thank all participants. The survey included 31categories from Administrative Assistants, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Resort Managers, CEO's, CFO's, etc.
This industry, unlike general real estate and second homes does not seen to be affected by the recession we are currently suffering.
Timeshare/vacation ownership/fractional/hospitality industry sales continue to grow at a 10-15% rate and have been on an extended upward climb through the 1980's and 1990's into the 21st century until it has finally broken the $10,000,000,000 (yes billion dollar) sales number.
Timeshare/vacation ownership/fractional/hospitality industry, for the most part, is not a sought after good but relies on marketing promotional efforts (OPC, 3/2, Gifts, etc.) to set appointments with prospective buyers. That makes the industry less susceptible to economic ups and downs.
