Tools4ever Announces a Connector for Google Mail for User Management

A new Connector is available to allow automated provisioning of User Accounts in Google Apps. Businesses, schools and universities can now automatically provision and manage Google Mail accounts along with LDAP and Active Directory accounts.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- Tools4ever is pleased to announce the release of a new Connector between its industry leading User Management Resource Administrator (UMRA) suite and Google™ Apps.

By utilizing the powerful capabilities inherent in UMRA, companies and educational facilities, of any size, can easily manage User Account Lifecycles. Input from a variety of sources may be utilized; including human resource or student information systems, web based forms or the helpdesk.

The new Connector extends the capabilities from managing accounts in Active Directory, LDAP, Novell and Exchange to allow for automatic provisioning and deletion of accounts in the Google Apps Premier and Education Editions. In addition to automating the creation process, UMRA has built-in capabilities to insure user account name uniqueness, eliminating what can be a tedious manual process.

Several of our Educational customers have decided to take advantage of the free Google Educational offering. They wanted to leverage their existing investment in UMRA to manage Gmail accounts concurrently with Active Directory. This new Connector provides that precise functionality."

Taking the concept one step further, Tools4ever also completed integration between their Self Service Reset Password (SSRPM) and Gmail. This functionality will allow end users to reset their AD and Gmail password prior to authentication from the Windows logon screen or via a web page. End user enrolment in the application is accomplished via a web page or a Windows wizard.
