Ocean City Fishing Anglers Dominate 2006 World Championship Surf & Shore Tournament This Week but Southern California Could be the Spoiler

Ocean City Surf Casters teams up to dominate the leader board, with a lone Gulf coast angler hanging on with the opening of snapper season. But as the waters get cold on the other side of the world the New Zealand contenders are still reeling in snappers with kite rigs off of 90 mile beach in the quest for the world championship silver cup.

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 29, 2006 -- Ocean City contender Donna Gutridge statically maneuvered into the top seat this week in the World Championship by her consistent catches of American Shad and earning bonus points for catch and release. Donna said the spring shad run in the Ocean City inlet is so hot I can hardly work for fishing. In second seat and just hanging on thanks to opening of snapper season in Alabama Meyer Leadsman the lone gulf coast contender just held on with an 8.5 lb redfish and 3 nice size snappers off of Dauphin Island Alabama. But Paul Fisher another Ocean City Angler who shot through the contender ranks page to challenge Meyer position sit in the third top 5 seat by using the same Angler tactics as Donna catching the spring shad run and reeling in over 9 American Shad and earning bonus points by catch and release.

Meanwhile in the land down under the leading Australian contender Phillip Edmond from Perth did not report any catches last week, which drop him out of the top 5 contender seats. Cold waters have not stop the New Zealand contenders with consistent catches of 4 to 7lb snappers on kite rigs in the 90 mile beach area.

Tournament committee members are still saying it’s early in the tournament, Long Island, Texas, New Jersey and the big bounty of the outer banks with strong surf casting communities could come enforce and upset the contenders board in a eastern coast battle of domination.
But two major buzzes on the tournament circuit is Delaware is coming with their aggressive and consistent catches on the mouth of the famous Delaware Bay, Indian river Inlet and the notorious 3 R’s crossing on the Delaware Coastal line. But the West coast could be the real spoiler with major internet chatter if the bloodydecks.com or SC Surf Fishing members out of Southern California come into the tournament the fight will be on to who controls the Contender page. But at the present the Ocean City Anglers Donna Gutridge and Paul Fisher enjoy the top seats with their strategy and great eastern coastal catches to try to stay a top in the chase to reel in the World Champion silver cup. But the tournament committee reminds everyone “It’s still way to early in the tournament and it’s anybodies playing field.
