The Next 'Crash'? The New Movie, 'The Genius Club', Quietly Heats Up as Hollywood Insiders Believe It Could Be the Next 'Crash'

Hollywood is embracing the new film, The Genius Club, from writer/director Tim Chey. The film could become the next ‘Crash’, insiders say.

(PRWEB) April 29, 2006 -- Hollywood is embracing the new film, The Genius Club, from writer/director Tim Chey. The film could become the next ‘Crash’, insiders say.

The film is about seven geniuses, with IQs over 200, who are plucked from their lives on Christmas Eve to try to solve the world’s problems in one night. If they fail, the world will come to an end. The group attempt to solve world hunger, war, cancer, terrorism, rush hour traffic, jerks, and finally the meaning of life.

"The world's not getting any better," says director Tim Chey. "Hopefully this film will de-program the way people think. The world's problems are solvable and hopefully we'll show it in a powerful way."

Casted are Matt Medrano, Paula Jai Parker (‘Hustle and Flow’), Tom Sizemore (‘Saving Private Ryan’), Stephen Baldwin (‘The Usual Suspects’), Carol Abney, Philip Moon (‘The Joy Luck Club’), Jack Guzman, Delane Yates, and Jack Scalia in the thriller that began shooting January 30, 2006.

The eye-popping film is already stirring heat around Hollywood insiders as the film takes on world problems in the same way ‘Crash’ (Best Picture winner) took on racial problems.
