(PRWEB) May 19, 2005 -- Nathan Winters, life-long baseball fan and Web designer has launched a new Web site into his diverse portfolio, www.barrysucks.com also known as www.barrystinks.com, a Web site dedicated to real baseball fans who remember what baseball was like before 70 homeruns a season and steroids.
The site was launched in response to the February 2005 news conference in which Barry Bonds told reporters, "Dodger Stadium is the best show I ever go to in all of my baseball. They say, 'Barry sucks' louder than anybody out there. And you know what, you'll see me in left field going just like this, because you know what, you've got to have some serious talent to have 53,000 people saying you suck. And I'm proud of that."
Started around the idea that Barry Bonds is bad for baseball -- a blog was created following Bond's activities and has expanded to include T-shirt sales, a free anti-Barry MP3 download, a forum and a twisted version of the arcade-classic Space Invaders renamed Steroid Invaders.
Steroid-infested sluggers and tainted records are alienating fans and making them wish for the days of Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth and Willie Mays, true baseball players who showed up to play because they loved the game. Instead, today we see Barry Bonds, who refuses to talk to the media or sign autographs and seems intent to ignore the growing and increasingly public scrutiny of his ethics both on and off the field.
BarrySucks.com and BarryStinks.com, have received press hits from newspapers including The New York Times, San Jose Mercury News and Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. ESPN has also recently interviewed Winters. Winters also states that his site was created more so for his love for the game rather than his dislike for Bonds.
